News and Events from PLoS Computational Biology,
the official journal of the ISCB

Dear Delegate,

PLoS Computational Biology is getting ready for this year’s ISMB/ECCB meeting, where you’ll find us in Booth 13 in the exhibition hall - unlucky for some but not for delegates who visit us!

We’re also particularly pleased to announce our first ever Impact Factor of 4.91 - the highest ranked journal in ISI's "Mathematical & Computational Biology” subject category (based on just the first six months of publication).  Particularly noteworthy is that a full 234 journals cite PLoS Computational Biology, further illustrating its broad reach and relevance to the community.

ISMB/ECCB 2007 - PLoS Events and Giveaways include:

PLoS Track.  In its second great year--2006 delegates rated the PLoS Track second in caliber only to the keynote addresses--this parallel track of 44 talks features the late-breaking, unpublished work of top level computational biologists whose abstracts are reviewed and selected by an expert panel. Look for your PLoS Track Schedule in your delegate bag, stop by our booth, or view it online. If you can’t make it to the PLoS Track talks, the abstracts will be available after the meeting on PLoS Computational Biology as personal communications– so watch for them there.

Meet the Team – Booth 13.  PLoS Computational Biology team members will answer your questions about the journal, PLoS, and publishing your work in an open access publication.

Mark Patterson - Director of Publishing, PLoS
Sat 22 July 10:00am-1.30pm
Sun 23 July 10:00am-1.30pm
Fran Lewitter - Education Editor, PLoS Computational Biology
Mon 24 July 11:20am-12:15pm

  • T-Shirts - Once again, PLoS will be giving away a t-shirt (unique design, only available at this event, while supplies last) to delegates who sign up to receive free email content alerts. Our annual shirt has been a hot commodity at previous shows and we expect good demand so be sure to call by, sign up and claim yours while stocks last.
  • Mouse Pads - Ultra slim and portable, our new mouse pads look good on your desk.
  • PLoS Window Decals - Spread the word by placing one in your car or in your lab window.

We look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks.

Best wishes,
The PLoS Computational Biology team.
